Its hybrid variant comes with a large 8-inch infotainment system that now comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities as standard. The Toyota Corolla Cross comes with a host of features that make it worth the purchase in the Philippines. Wind noise and road noise are imperceptible, as is the engine while driving in the city with EV mod engaged. NVH insulation is superb in the Corolla Cross, which is further emphasized by the quietness of its engine. The usual tradeoff is that a taller vehicle will tend to roll, but the Corolla Cross does well to manage its weight, remaining planted even while cornering. Because it is a crossover with a unibody chassis, the Corolla Cross gets a good amount of ground clearance which allows it to clear bumps and potholes easier. The engine is smooth, but if you opt for the Hybrid variant, you can expect a marginally smoother ride and a quiet powertrain. The driving performance of the Corolla Cross is similar to the Corolla Altis. Chassisġ.8-liter naturally-aspirated hybrid gasolineġ38 horsepower, 172 Newton-meters of torqueġ20 horsepower, 142 Newton-meters of torque This provides the vehicle with more than enough braking power along with a comfortable ride. Braking performance comes from Ventilated discs at the front while the rear only gets solid discs. The suspension comes in the form of MacPherson Struts at the front and a torsion beam at the rear. With the electric motor and the gasoline-fed engine working together the total output of the Corolla Cross is 120hp and 142 Nm of torque. It is important to note that the 1.8-liter motor in the hybrid system on its own produces 98hp and 142 Nm of torque. The Corolla Cross comes powered by either 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engine that pushes out 138hp and 172 Nm of torque or a 1.8-liter hybrid powertrain. However, it is important to note that the Corolla Cross's suspension has been tuned differently from its sedan stablemate in order to handle the extra weight of the vehicle. The chassis are the same as they share in the same hybrid engine as well as the same suspension components. The Corolla Cross shares the same TNGA platform as its sedan counterpart the Toyota Corolla Altis. The hybrid variant also comes standard with three driving modes (ECO, SPORT, and EV) which all help maximize what its powertrain can do in terms of fuel economy, performance, and just running on its battery system. The Corolla Cross is only available with a CVT and an E-CVT for the hybrid variant. Customers also have the option of getting the special Platinum Pearl White Mica color option for the vehicle with an additional cost of P15,000. Upon entering the local automotive market it had a starting price of P1,285,000 for the 1.8 G CVT variant, while it's range-topping 1.8 V hybrid comes with a price tag of P1,650,000. Similar to all-new crossover's launch in Thailand it can be had with a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine as well as a hybrid gasoline power plant. The Toyota Corolla Cross was launched in the Philippines on August 20, 2020, and was made available with two variants.
